There is a bit of skepticism regarding the true identity of the Dendro Archon, with many fans believing that the real one went into hiding.
Lesser Lord Kusanaliis the name given byYae Mikoand proceededThe God of the Woodsin leading Sumeru. This event seems to have occurred during the invasion ofKhaenri’ah, where it seems that many gods fell, includingMakoto, the sister ofAi.

Due to the strange lore surrounding The God of the Woods, many players theorize thatBaizhumay actually be the Dendro Archon. This is based on several bits oflore, which may suggest that—while gravely injured—The God of the Woods did manage to survive and flee the battle.
Kusanali is the one currently in Sumeru, andZhongli revealedthat they are theyoungestarchon, at around 500 years old.
