To find Whetstones in V Rising, you will need to search specific locations in the game. Crafting is also an option, but you will need to unlock the recipe first by slayingGrayson the Armourer. Once unlocked, you will be able to craft Whetstones inside a Furnace with12 Stonedustand1 Copper Ingotper Whetstone.
But before you may craft Whetstones, you need to unlock the recipe. So, in the meantime, go with the location-farming route for Whetstones. Locations such asBandit Strongholdsand theBandit Armoryare perfect for farming and finding Whetstones. You can find Whetstones as dropped loot in these locations via boxes, chests, and specific enemies.

Deadeyes,Bombers, andspear-wielding enemieswill occasionally drop Whetstones. You can find these enemies inside Bandit Strongholds, in the Bandit Armory, or roaming close by on the roads. However, the Bandit Stronghold location will not be accessible until you unlock bombs. Because of this, it is better to go with the Bandit Armory route for finding Whetstones in V Rising.

How to unlock Whetstones in V Rising
To unlock Whetstones in V Rising, you will need to find and kill Grayson the Armourer. Grayson the Armoureris located at the Bandit Armory in the location above. Grayson is also level 27, so we recommend raising your level to at leastGear Level 27+ before fighting them. You can increase your Gear Level by making the following items.
Making the items listed above will raise your total Gear Level to 30, which is the perfect range for surviving the Bandit Armory and slaying Grayson the Armourer. Upon killing Grayson, you will unlock Whetstones and can then craft them back at the Furnace with12 Stonedustand1 Copper Ingot.
What are Whetstones used for in V Rising?
Whetstones in V Rising are used as a key resource in the crafting of Merciless Copper Weapons and the Grinder. Merciless Copper Weapons are the next step above normal Copper Weapons in the game and will raise your Gear Level by 12. Each weapon will also cost at least 8 Whetstones to make, along with other resources. The Grinder will require at least 4 Whetstones and is used to make resources such as Stone Dust.
