Changing your characters' outfits and clothing doesn’t happen until playersreach Chapter 3andfinish Ethel’s Hero Quest. Once this is complete, changing clothing is a breeze:

Make sure to also use L and R to cycle through your party and customize their appearance as well. Note that any character can wear any piece of clothing, so long as it has already been unlocked.

How to unlock additional outfits in XC3

There are three ways to unlock additional outfits in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The first is toplay the story. As you make your way through the various quests, you’ll unlock plenty of new clothing choices and options. The second is tolevel up your character’s class. Upon reaching Rank 10 in a class, you’ll unlock a special clothing option for that class. The final way to acquire additional clothing options in XC3 is bypurchasing the expansion pass, which offers new colors for the base outfits.
