Fortnite is no stranger to Lightsabers. These weapons, made popular by the Star Wars franchise, were seen in Fortnite back in 2020 itself during Star Wars day on May 4. However, they were vaulted soon after and weren’t seen for a while. But after the information received from the Fortnite v20.20 update, there’s a high chance Lightsabers will return to Fortnite this year.

Based upon the information provided by popular Fortnite data minerHYPEX, the effects for the Lightsaber were updated in the Fortnite v20.20 update. However, the weapon itself wasn’t added to the game files. Now given that the next update is scheduled for a day before June 04, 2025—aka Star Wars Day—there’s a very high chance that the Lightsabers in Fortnite will go live onMay 3.

We’re not really sure for how long the Lightsabers will be in the game. However, based on our previous experience with the weapon, they could probably stay in Fortnite for a week or two at max. The Lightsabers could make an arrival on May 3 with the numerousStar Wars cosmeticsand theStormtrooper NPC, the files for which were seen in the Fortnite v20.20 update.
