Madden 23 features new gameplay mechanics, but many controls will feel familiar to Madden veterans. When running with yourQuarterback, you may want to slide to prevent a fumble or injury. Here is how to slide in Madden 23:

Tapping the dive button while running with the QB will initiate a slide. If you are running with a player other than a QB, tapping dive will make them fall forward. Holding dive will initiate a large dive forward, extending the play for extra yards with a higher risk of fumbling.

Sliding is recommended for almost all Quarterbacks since many have low ball carrier ratings. Being hit with a Hit Stick tackle or a strip tackle will result in a fumble more times than not if you are running with a Quarterback with a low ball carrier rating.

A few QBs can risk taking hits, but sliding is still a better option than getting tackled. QBs like Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Russell Wilson have good rushing ability and fumble less often but are still a big risk for injury, so sliding is always a good option.
