The Scythe is a fiendishly good-looking weapon that has arrived in Season of the Haunted in Destiny 2. to wield it and claim the sinister “Reaper” title, Guardians will have to tackle the new Seasonal Activity.

Unfortunately, theScytheis not a weapon that can be wielded like the Glaive or swords. Instead, it is atemporary weaponlike the Hive Knight swords. It can be obtained during theNightmare Containment Public Eventon theDerelict Leviathan.

The Nightmare Containment Public Event is a multi-tiered activity. In Tiers one and two, Guardians will need to clear enemies to collectShards of Dread. Shortly thereafter,Dread Bearerswill appear. These yellow-bar fiends have a significant amount of health and will require multiple Guardians to bring one down.
Once killed, the Dread Bearers will drop aCore of Dread. Return the Core of Dread to theharvesterand aScythewill spawn. The Scythe has two main attacks, much like swords. It will very quickly cut through standard foes as well as any remaining Dread Bearers.
