If you want to communicate but don’t want to speak, it’s time to break out the emotes. Here’s how to access the emote menu, select a mood depending on the system you’re playing with, and a few special perks from emoting on Borderlands.

Access the Borderlands 3 emote menu

To get into the emote menu, press and hold the pause button. On PS4, this is theOptionsmenu pause button, not the touchpad. ensure that you actually hold the button down (don’t just tap it), otherwise, the pause menu will pop up.

Once you’ve brought up the emote menu, use the left thumbstick to tab through the emotion options. Find the one you want to use, and pressXon PS4 orAon Xbox One to select the emote.

If you’re playing on PC, you’ll pressZon your keyboard to bring up the menu.
