Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are bringing new content for franchise fans, and the most important is an open-world experience. In this role-playing adventure, you’ll explore the Paldea region freely and have three main stories to grapple with. Although all main stories are not explained yet, we know that gym battles will return in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet as one of 3 different stories to choose from.
Announced during the August 3Pokémon Presents, there will beeight Gymsaround the Paldea region for you to prove your skills. There you’ll meet important characters, and the most important of them areGym leaders. One of them is Grusha, described as an “ice-type Gym leader.” You’ll have to hone your skills to get the Champion title. AsPokémon Scarlet and Violet are open-world adventuregames, you’re able to choose in which order you will visit each Gym.

Information on the other two stories is still vague, but it will require you to travel across the Paldea region. You can play these stories in no particular order, which underlines the freedom you’ll have in these role-playing games. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be released on July 13, 2025, on Nintendo Switch.
