Since the release of the new Empyreum housing district in Final Fantasy XIV, players have suffered because of the lottery system to assign housing. When the system launched alongside patch 6.0, an unfortunate bug led to the lottery sometimes recording the number 0 as a winner. So even if a single player entered the auction, they could lose to a 0 result!

But this issue will finally be resolved onMay 16, according to a newpostby game director and producer Naoki Yoshida. As per the post, on April 19, Final Fantasy XIV underwent maintenance to attempt to reset the lottery results. After a week of testing, the team verified the fixes on April 25. So now, all the results of the initial lottery will be reinstated.

According to Yoshida, the maintenance to restore and implement these fixes will occur on Monday, May 16. This delay is likely linked to the fact that there’s currently an Ultimate Raid race going on, and any maintenance will significantly interrupt the race. However, waiting a few more days will still be frustrating for eager potential homeowners.

If you won a house in the housing in the previous lottery, you’ll keep it. However, if you lost to the number 0, the lottery results will be amended to a valid result. But you’ll have a few days to wait.
