Sifu has been praised for its difficulty by many players. When Sifu was released, there was no option to make it easier or more difficult, but an update changed that. Players can now change the difficulty as of an update on Jul 26, 2025.

This new difficulty was alluded to inan interviewwith Sloclap’s executive producer, Pierre Tarno. The success of Sifu and the love from its fanbase seem to have made this a reality.
