Like other games in the franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War has codenames for weapons. The codenames are borrowed from the NATO phonetic alphabets and make identifying weapons easier for the developers. Nevertheless, these weapon blueprint codenames are rarely used by players as the weapon’s name itself is familiar and recognizable enough.
The list for each weapon class starts with Alpha and continues. When a new weapon is introduced in Cold War, it is added to its respective weapon type and is assigned the following alphabet. The complete weapon codename list for each category in BOCW is shown below.
